The NYS provides a variety of online learning resources for both caregivers and providers. Full length videos on Kinship 101, financial assistance options, legal options for caregivers, and a variety of other topics are available for viewing at any time. The short video primers are meant to provide succinct information on a specific topic, such as filling out the LDSS application for financial assistance, KinGAP 101, and authorizing medical care.
The NYS Kinship Navigator team is also able to provide presentations – in person and remote – at local and statewide conferences, local DSS’s, human service agencies, and other agencies that serve kinship families in need. The goal is to promote knowledge of kinship care, education to professionals and caregivers, and to explain how access to services provided across New York State.
